apple streusel cake with pecan/ walnut and cinnamon crumble

oooooo...apple streusel! this is a soft, dense butter cake layered with stewed apple and pecan and/or walnut streusel. if you didn't know, streusel comes from the german word "streuen" which means 'to sprinkle' or 'to scatter'. it is a crumbly topping containing a mixture of butter, flour and sugar. but in these cupcakes of mine, i've added nuts to provide a crisp crust which adds both lovely taste and texture.

i, personally think that these cupcakes are delicious, without a doubt. let me share with you some of the feedback i've received from those who have tried it. here's what they have to say about this yummo cupcakes:

"this cupcake is really nice! i loved the crunchy spicy sugary bits on top and it was lovely and moist. not too dry, which i find some cupcakes can be. i also loved the real stewed apple filling. very yummy!" (r. morrisson)

"OMG! it is divine! really nice with the stewed apple in the middle and not mixed through. more crumble though...i love crumble!!!" (a.l. yoong)

"mmmmmmmm, this is so yummy. the apple filling and the crumble on top are awesome. i love the difference in texture from the crunchy top to the soft apple filling and the moist cake. i also like how when you slice it down the middle you can see that layer of apple. this one is a winner." (r. nicdao)

"your apple streusel cupcakes were absolutely delicious and very good value for money. i will certainly keep you in mind when we have special occasions!" (j.ots)
